Description
ViFarms produces high quality and affordable lean pork for underserved communities in Ghana using eco-friendly, sustainable practices. Its by-products help low-income vegetable farmers increase their productivity, income and rejuvenate their farmlands. The company also provides market access opportunities for smallholder pig farmers in the region
Market Opportunity/ Problem
In Ghana, it is very difficult to find quality lean pork (pork minimal less fat) even though it is the most consumed meat type and 8th most nutritious food in the world. This is even more severe in underserved communities who mostly have access to only unhealthy fatty pork resulting in increased risk of health-related complications. ViFarms addresses this challenge by making high-quality lean pork available to these communities
