We discovered a gap in the tomato value chain, where there is either so much and cheap, or scarce and expensive, and so we researched and developed our business model.We discovered by research that some of the loss is encountered in transportation, but mostly (60%) due to poor processing and storage. By tackling processing and storage means that we can reduce scarcity of the product, bring down the prices and ensure people have good quality tomatoes year We discovered a gap in the tomato value chain, where there is either so much and cheap, or scarce and expensive. We discovered by research that some of the Post-harvest loss is encountered in transportation, but mostly (60%) due to poor processing and storage. By tackling processing and storage means that we can reduce scarcity of the product, bring down the prices and ensure people have good quality tomatoes year round. Our Work begins with getting the best produce and to achieve this, we partner with cooperative of smallholder farmers, mainly women farmers who supply us our tomatoes and other agricultural produce which we process into pastes, or dry and package in jars or pouches for sales in supermarkets and e-commerce stores. We also support them with seedlings and fertilizer at the start of the farming seasons and they ensure we have consistent good quality agricultural produce for production.
