LONO

Description

LONO provides technology and services to farmers and food processors to unlock the value in their waste streams. The company manufactures machinery locally for the small farmers and small processors to treat directly their solid and liquid waste into clean energy and organic fertilizers. The fertilizer and energy are for their own needs or sold.

Market Opportunity/ Problem

Farming and agroprocessing generates organic waste that can be up to 10 times the quantity of the sold product. This excess material currently generates no additional income for farmers or food processors despite proven technologies being available around the world for many decades. The current available technologies remain inaccessible to small farmers for their high upfront costs and the lack of business models adpated to hard to reach and low income small farmers. Our solution is a locally manufactured low-cost technology that small farmers and rural food processors can use to treat directly their own waste into energy and fertilizer profitably.
