Katheri Dairy Farmers Co-operative Society (Katheri) is a marketing society that collects milk from small scale farmers, aggregates, cools and sells to processors. They also offer small scale farmers other services to support their businesses.

Market Opportunity/ Problem

The milk shortage in Kenya has resulted in increased demand; the cooperative therefore seeks to bridge this gap by increasing its membership base, which will results in increased milk production increasing the incomes of a larger number of Smallholder farmers. The co-operative cites lack of financing as a major hinderance for growth, especially for value addition and production of quality and affordable animal feeds for its farmers.
