Market Opportunity/ Problem
In the first 8 years the company supplied a ‘wet’ cassava paste to the brewers. Since 2019 the company has been producing a ‘dry’ cassava starch. The market diversified and demand for the product rose sharply both in and outside the country. The market is bigger than the company can handle and the company needs to scale up both the volumes produced by the smallholders as well as its own efficiency and capacity.
