Description

Bidii Women Group is a Kenyan Community development organization that supports communities to initiate and drive their development agenda by harnessing and growing their resources as well as securing their basic rights and services from duty bearers. Bidii Women Group works with poor, marginalized and disadvantaged communities as its primary target group and looks to provide them support in uplifting themselves through their own efforts. A secondary target group involves organized communities who are focused and looking to uplift themselves in a sustainable manner through asset building.

Market Opportunity/ Problem

According to a Mango survey of market managers (Organic Produce, Price Premiums, and Eco-Labelling in Lower Eastern, Coastal region and Upper Eastern of Kenya Farmers’ Markets, April 2018), demand for organic products is strong or moderate in most of the farmers’ markets surveyed around the country, and managers feel that more organic farmers are needed to meet consumer demand.
