Barnet Agriculture Resource Centre

Description

Barnet Agriculture Resource Centre (BHARC) is the first mile for farmers to access market for their farm produce and the last mile for distribution of inputs to farmers. It has a robust extension system which mobilizes farmers into savings groups which are also producer and marketing groups.

Market Opportunity/ Problem

Demand for groundnuts in the local and international markets is higher than what the country is currently producing. Furthermore, aflatoxin and groundnut diseases have affected the market and the yield. BHARC intends to engage producer groups with high quality seeds and extension advice.
